The Midwest Supermodified Series will replace the Midwest Supermodified Association in 2018. News of the change was made official Sunday in a story on Speed Sport.
Former MSA President Kevin Jaycox announced at the conclusion of the 2017 season that he would be stepping down to turn all focus on Sandusky Speedway. Supermodified owners David and Lori May have since stepped in to launch MSS. The two are now working on getting a 2018 schedule together.
This is the second time this winter a series has been saved. Earlier in December it was announced that the Ohio Sprint Car Series would not return in 2018. After Brad McCown announced he was shutting down the series to focus more on Atomic Speedway, Steven Pocock stepped up and acquired the OSCS. A 2018 schedule has yet to be released.
