Truck Series On Break
After three weeks of racing to open the season the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will have some time off before returning to the track at Martinsville on March 24th. Through three weeks Sandusky based ThorSport Racing has all four drivers inside the top-10 in the driver standings.
Grant Enfinger is 3rd, Ben Rhodes is 5th, Matt Crafton 9th and Myatt Snider sits 10th.
Tifft In Top 10
Matt Tifft is 10th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driver standings through three races following an 11th place finish Saturday in Las Vegas. The Hinckley native has yet to register a top-10 finish or any playoff points in his first year with Richard Childress Racing.
New Philadelphia native Matt Mills finished 27th Saturday in Las Vegas. Mills has made two starts for JD Motorsports in the NXS and is 36th in the driver standings.
The NXS will be at ISM Raceway Saturday for the DC Solar 200.
All Haudenschild And Schatz
Wooster native Sheldon Haudenschild and Donny Schatz are the only two drivers to find victory lane with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series in 2018. Schatz has 3 wins, Haudenschild has 2. The two also sit atop the driver standings with Schatz 12 points in front of Haudenschild. The Outlaws were scheduled to open their California swing Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway though the event was rained out.
Atomic Set For Opener
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will visit Ohio later this month. Atomic Speedway will host the Buckeye Spring 50 on Friday, March 16th. Jonathan Davenport sits atop the LOLMDS driver standings with 3 wins in 9 races. Modifieds are also on the schedule for the March 16th opener.
Dirt Million Tickets On Sale
Tickets went on sale March 1st for the Dirt Million at Mansfield Motor Speedway. Just two hours after sales had opened, the purse had climbed to $264,813.80, guaranteeing the winner $132,406.90. The purse for the August event is unique as it will continue to climb ahead of the August 24th-25th event. A pair of camping lots for the event are also sold out.
