All Stars To Visit Attica & Wayne County
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions are set to make two stops in the Buckeye State this weekend. Attica Raceway Park will host the rescheduled Core & Main Spring Nationals on Friday night. Along with the All Star Sprints, UMP late models and 305 sprints will also be racing. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., racing is slated to start at 7:45 p.m.
Saturday night Wayne County Speedway will swing open the doors hosting the All Star Sprints. Super late models are also on the schedule. Gates open at 3 p.m., hot laps start at 6 p.m.
Lucas Oil Late Models At Sharon
A tripleheader for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will kickoff Friday night at Sharon Speedway. The Steel Valley 50 presented by Performance Bodies and Barris Truck Service will pay $12,000-to-win. The Sportsman Modifieds will also be in action racing for $600-to-win. Chase Briscoe To Visit Next Month
NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Chase Briscoe confirmed on Twitter he will race at Attica and Fremont next month. Briscoe saying on Twitter that while he is in town for the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio May 4-6, he’ll visit Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway.
Dancer And Hill Ready To Run With Invaders
Delphos native Shawn Dancer is set to run with the K&l Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders this weekend. Their season will begin Friday night at Limaland Motorsports Park.
“Limaland is basically our home track,” said Dancer in a media release from Inside Line Promotions. “We only live a few minutes from there so we’re always excited to get back there. We’re looking to hit most of the shows in Lima this year – around 10 to 15 of them.”
With the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com off this weekend, Alex Hill will race with the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders. She’ll race on Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park and then make the trip to Eldora Speedway for their season opener on Saturday.
“I’m excited about returning to a couple of tracks that I enjoy racing at,” said Hill. “Limaland is a fun, little track – a bullring. I haven’t raced at a track like that this year. And it’s always exciting to go to Eldora. It’s the opposite – big and fast. I haven’t been to either of those tracks for a while so it will be nice to get back there.”
Painesville Starts Lett Memorial Facebook Page
The Painesville Speedway has launched a Facebook page for the annual Frank Lett Memorial. Fans are encouraged to follow the page for more information and news on the 8th annual event scheduled for Saturday, September 8.
Rain, snow and cold temperatures has forced Raceway 7 to cancel a practice session that was scheduled for Friday. Work will continue on the clay oval as another practice session is scheduled for April 27. Raceway 7 is scheduled to open the season on May 4 with 5 divisions.
Deerfield Cancels Opener
Like Raceway 7, Mother Nature has not been kind to the staff at Deerfield Speedway. Officials announced Monday that the practice session scheduled for Friday, along with Saturday’s season opener had been canceled. Deerfield will try again, with a practice session set for Friday, April 27 and opening night a day later on Saturday, April 28.
Dirt Million Update
Bobby Pierce sits atop the reward points for the Dirt Million after 7 weeks. Devin Moran, Tyler Carpenter and Scott Bloomquist complete the top-4. The top-4 drivers in points after 25 weeks earn provisionals in the Dirt Million main event.
Dirt In December
Fans looking to make the trip to St. Louis for the 2018 VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals will be able to purchase tickets for the event on May 1. This years event will again take place at the Dome At America’s Center from November 29-December 1. Midgets have been added for 2018, joining late models and modifieds.
