Another Saturday night meant more rain showers passing through Ohio. Though most tracks were washed out, Fremont Speedway, Oakshade Raceway and The Painesville Speedway completed their shows. Deerfield Speedway and Sharon Speedway were able to get some racing in before the weather decided to not cooperate.
Feature winners at Fremont Speedway were Craig Mintz in the 410 sprints, Steve Rando in the 305 sprints and Jake Brown in the NRA 306 sprints.
Rusy Schlenk captured the Sunoco American Late Model Series feature at Oakshade Raceway. Other feature winners at Oakshade included Cory Gumm in the sports compact division, Jeff Foks won the bomber feature while Justin Gamber won the B feature in the bomber division. Brad Eitniear was the sportsman feature winner.
At The Painesville Speedway feature winners included Joe Coursen in the Top Notch Fabrication Street Stocks. Hayden Nails won the Convoy Tire Renegades feature. In the Rad Air Factory Four feature Austin Burkholder captured the checkered flag. Bill Rabbitts won the Redline Radio Trophy Stocks feature.TJ Schinke, Jeff Marvin and Tyler Ray won the Pit Road Diecast Stock Compacts feature, Detroit Auto Parts Figure Eight feature and
Warrior Figure Eight main event.
After an exciting night of racing Friday at Attica Raceway Park, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions made their way to Wayne County Speedway Saturday. A large rain storm moved through Wayne County forcing the show to get rained out.
Sharon Speedway was into the heat race portion of its show when rain moved in for a second time and eventually canceled the remainder of the night.
Barberton Speedway and Lorain County were also rained out on Saturday. Further south, Midway Speedway moved the Jim Dunn Memorial to Sunday. The drivers meeting is at 5 p.m. with hot laps scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. The Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association was scheduled to run at Atomic Speedway before weather moved in. The OVSCA announcing on its Facebook page that the series has rescheduled to June 9th.
