Ben Rhodes used a late fuel gamble to win the Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway Thursday night. Rhodes took fuel only and made an adjustment during a late pit stop with less than 30 laps to go. He then drove away from Stewart Friesen in the closing laps, beating Friesen to the line by .922-seconds.
The win is extra-special for Rhodes. It’s his second career NCWTS win and first at Kentucky Speedway. Rhodes grew up just west of the Sparta, Kentucky facility. The victory also marks the first for Sandusky based ThorSport Racing since the team switched to Ford Performance at the beginning of the 2018 season.
Next up for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, a visit to Eldora Speedway for the 6th Annual Eldora Dirt Derby. ThorSport Racing won the event last year with Matt Crafton.
