Below is the release posted to the Lorain County Speedway website and Facebook page regarding the future of the track. We wish the crew best of luck in 2019!
Before we make this major announcement, we would like to take a moment to address our fans, race teams and sponsors. The past few years have been the toughest in the long history of Lorain County Speedway (LCS). Frankly, LCS has not lived up to the standards our customers expect of us and what we expect of ourselves. So, on behalf of the entire Lorain County Speedway family we apologize. We have let you down, and we will work to regain your trust, which begins today with this announcement.
On this very special 70th Year Anniversary, we are very pleased to be able to introduce you to our new General Manager Tom Findish, Business Development Manager Todd Bachman and Race Director Jeff Fade Sr.
Tom, Todd and Jeff are truly exceptional finds in this industry. They each have a professional working attitude and are excellent communicators. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience in all things racing related.
Originally from Sheffield OH, Tom Findish has spent the majority of his life in Amherst. He is married to the love of his life Jackie for 30 years.
With Tom’s arrival comes an impressive and well-rounded career in the racing industry. He spent 2 years racing in the Street Stocks division, as well as filling multiple positions at the race track, including one year as flagman, one year as tech official, two years as the food and beverage manager, 2 years as assistant event director, three years as a scorer, and 3 years as operations manager over a period of 14 years. You won’t find many people who know the racing industry from all the major aspects like Tom does.
In his role as General Manager, Tom will be responsible for the daily organization and company activities, but he is also dedicated to improving LCS’s customer service!
In discussions with LCS owner Kevin Bonnema, Tom stated, “We are going to be extremely communicative from the top down, from the Bonnema family ownership all the way down to the bottom of racing operations.” Tom also went on to say, “Everyone is going to know what our goal is. They are going to know how they fit in that role, and we are all going to be pulling in the same direction.”
Todd Bachman, as Business Development Manager, will be an integral part of our team, and his aim will be to bring LCS to a higher level and expand its activities to new demographics while introducing new forms of entertainment to the company model. He will also oversee all matters relating to marketing, sponsorship and promotions.
Todd has spent the last 16 years living in Wellington OH with his wife Danielle raising his four daughters, one of which has made him a proud grandpa. Todd started his racing career in 1997 racing street stocks and then moving on to Modifieds. He owns a successful business which he built from the ground up with hard work and dedication. He is liked and well respected in the racing community and said he is excited for the future of LCS. We couldn’t be more excited for him to bring his promotional ideas, industry expertise and customer service ethic to the LCS family.
Jeff Fade Sr., and his impressive resume, joins the team as the new Race Director. Replacing the recently retired, long time veteran Nick Giurukis, Jeff will be orchestrating the racing events every Saturday night. He brings with him 22 years of experience in the racing industry with 8 of those years as a Race Director.
Jeff resides in Madison OH, has three kids and 6 grandkids. When asked what he loves other than racing, he replied “racing”. He will be hand picking his race officials and will introduce them as soon as he completes the process. He aims to honor the division rules that have been posted on the official Lorain County Speedway website since November 10th.
We are confident with Tom, Todd and Jeff on board that we have found just the people to lead us as a company into the future! Please join us in welcoming them to the Lorain County Speedway family!
