Close Racing Supply race report: by Jay Pees

Conneaut, OH (May 24, 2019): Fans drove through rain to get to the track for the second night of the 2019 season, a night that started with a heavy heart as the track remembered two of its own, 85 year old James D Siferd, a sportsman driver from the early seventies, and eight year old Trenton James Shelbon Vogt, son of long time scorers Jenna and Bob Vogt Jr. Trenton’s sister, Alexis performed a parade lap in his memory to start the evening. One hundred ten cars checked into the pit area over the five classes for an evening of heats and features. A lengthy red flag was shown during the second E-Mod heat when long-time competitor Brent Rhebergen stuffed the front of his racer under the third-turn guardrail after an apparent stuck throttle.
