Dirt track racing is all about the people who support the sport and Jeff Norris was just the guy for Hilltop Speedway. The track would not be where it is today without the love and dedication to the sport this man possessed. So, what better way to honor his memory than having an inaugural $2,000 to win late model race in his name.

The first annual Jeff Noris Memorial race featured a field of thirty-four late models with ‘Fast’ Freddie Carpenter setting DFC Racing Carburetors sponsored fast time with a 13.696. McKenzie Concrete heat race winners were Todd Brennan, Rick Mardis and Matt Irey with Ryan Missler picking up the dash. Jeromy Misel and Corey Conley would each pick up a last chance race.

Bringing the field to the start of their 27-lap feature, pole sitter, Missler would take the early lead. Meanwhile, fifth place Carpenter would be making his move through the field, passing Vic Hottinger for second with four laps down. After a couple early race cautions, the field was bunched up and back under way, this time with Carpenter claiming the lead with five laps down. Missler, a close second, would look in as Carpenter got high in turn two. Able to gather it up without losing position, Carpenter would continue to put distance between himself and Missler as the laps passed. With nearly a straight away lead, picking up the first annual Jeff Norris Memorial $2,000 to win it was ‘Fast’ Freddie Carpenter. Rounding out the top five was Missler, Justin Chance, Rick Mardis and cracking the top five after starting eleventh, Charlie Duncan.

Heat race winners among the Rigz Towing and Snyder Hot Shot modlites were Jimmy Smith, Tim Callahan and Clint Snyder. Setting front row after redrawing was Teddy Williams and Braden Tucke.

With the green out, Williams would jump out front over the field. Meanwhile, working through the field Jimmy Smith and Tanner McLoughlin would make their presence known as they claimed second and third. On the bumper of Williams, Smith would go side by side taking the lead off turn four with six laps down. Lap seven, McLoughlin, determined to get to Smith, would also work his way around Williams. A late race caution would bunch the field up for the restart giving McLoughlin the opportunity he needed. However, has the green dropped, Smith would claim the top spot and never look back, picking up his fourth win in a row. Second went to McLoughlin, third Teddy Williams, fourth Clint Snyder and fifth Ray Leslie.

Setting fast time among a full field of Bugs R Gone modifieds was Nathon Loney with a time of 15.090. Heat race winners were DJ Cline and Jimmy Smith with the dash win going to Chris Basich.

With the field set, the green was out for their 20-lap feature event. A three-wide battle between Basich, Kyle Bond and Jess Hartman would ensue for the lead with Bond taking lap one. Side by side, Basich would take second as caution would come out with six laps in the books. Back under green, Basich would get a run and take the lead with Bond looking in. Meanwhile, battling his way through the field from seventh, Cline would work the inside of Hartman for third with ten laps down. Using lap traffic on lap fourteen, Cline would drive around Bond to claim second closing in on Basich. However, he would run out of laps as it was Chris Basich picking up the win followed by Cline, Bond, Jess Hartman and George Lee.

Tyler Nicely and Kevin Potts each picked up a win in the Holmes Pest Control street stock division. With a top three redraw after the heats, the feature field was set and David Potts would take the early lead over pole sitter Nicely. As Nicely and Bob Daugherty battled it out for third position, Kevin Potts would make his move from fifth to take third with six laps in. Setting his sights on Nicely, Potts would challenge lap after lap ultimately claiming second with eleven laps down. Two to go, caution would come out setting up a green, white, checkered finish. Back under green, David would again jump out front. However, dad, Kevin was not far behind, challenging for the top spot. Side by side off turn four to the checker it was David Potts edging out the win over Kevin. Finishing third was Tyler Nicely, fourth Bob Daugherty and fifth Michael Amick.

The Newfast Motorsports Mini stocks featured three heats with wins going to Kevin Markey, Wayne Newbury and Colton St. John. Redraw would have Markey sitting pole and Newbury outside. Taking the early lead was Markey with Wes Staley in pursuit, looking in with three laps down. Caution would bunch the field up for restart where Markey would again take the top spot. Meanwhile, Colton St. John would make his way up from sixth to go side by side with Staley for second. However, Staley was determined, challenging the inside of Markey to claim the lead with ten laps down. Unfortunately, a caution would come out setting up a green, white, checker. Back under green, Staley would jump out front and that is where he would remain picking up a close win followed by Colton St. John, Kevin Markey, Jason St. John and Blaine Markey.

A field of nine made up the Newfast Motorsports truck division with Cole Lillibridge picking up the only heat win. After a full field redraw, Rolly Heyder would sit pole position with Lillibridge outside. With the drop of the green, the front runners battled it out for the top spot. Unfortunately, with a hard charge going into four, Lillibridge would spin out bringing out the caution and would have to restart tail. Back under green, Heyder would maintain the lead as Lillibridge would work his way back through the field up to second with five laps down. A hard battle down the backstretch would see Lillibridge take the lead with six in. Undeterred, Heyder would charge back. Unfortunately, troubles as he would go through the infield falling back in position. Thus, after a hard run from the tail to pick up the win was Cole Lillibridge. Second went to Dwayne Powell, third Jerry Gardner, fourth Darek Cordia and fifth Rolly
Heyder.
