Conneaut, OH (July 17, 2019) — The Penn-Ohio ProStock Championship Series will visit Raceway 7 for the only time in 2019, the third event on their schedule. Tim Bish is the current points leader for the traveling series with a victory at Mercer Raceway and Shaun Hooks is second with a win at Eriez Speedway June 30. Locally Pat Fielding leads the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock championship standings, holding an 89-point edge over Joe Stajnragh, who is just eight points ahead of Bill Watson. Darr Diegelman is another 23-points back with Jamie Duncan only three points behind Diegelman in fifth. Fielding has two wins, May 24 and June 7. Wesley McCray also has two wins, May 17, and May 31, the only two nights he has competed. McCray is thirteenth in the standings. Paul Davis, in seventh, also has won in his every appearance. Interestingly, he was second in his heat each of those nights. Curt Bish is the other winner, his sole win coming on July fifth, his only appearance of the season. Bish is twentieth in the standings.
The other four divisions will all be in action as well. The Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Late Models are headed in the rankings by defending champion and three-time 2019 winner Darrell Bossard, who holds a 73-point edge over Breyton Santee, whose sole win this season came June 7. Matt Latta, the winner May 17 (opening night) May 31, and July 12, is 22-points behind Santee. Former champion Kyle Zimmerman is only one point behind Latta. Zimmerman’s sole win this season came May 24. Dave Airgood is fifth, only five points out of fourth. Airgood’s best finish has been a second, that coming last Friday.
Casey Bowers, who visited the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mod Victory Lane for the first time last week, leads Mike Kinney, the May 17 and July 5 winner, by only 7-points. Third, 65-points back is the former two-time champion Gary Eicher, who scored wins May 24 and June 7. Three-time in a row winner Mike Potosky, June 14, 21, and 28, is fourth, only eight behind Eicher. Dan McDonald, sans any wins, is fifth, another forty points back.
The Bonnell’s Auto Sales Economods are the tightest points battle at the current time with only fourteen points separating the first three spots. Nate Young, who scored his first-ever win on May 31 and then backed it up with another June 28, leads by just six markers over Matt Alexander, who has yet to score a win this season. Alexander only has two points on Kyle Miller, opening night and the most recent winner. Dustin Demattia is fourth, not yet visiting Victory Lane but with one second and two thirds to his credit. He is behind Miller by 120-points. Yet another 25 points behind in fifth, a total of 244 out of the lead, is defending champion Eric Reinwald, who started the season late then had problems the first two weeks he competed. After he got going, Reinwald has scored two seconds. Eric Wilson has two wins while Jacob Eucker and Jarrit Young each scored their first Raceway 7 wins, Young’s being his first-ever.
Mark Lawrence, the winner on May 24 and June 7, leads the Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stocks by twelve points over Dillon Speer, the defending champion and five-time winner this season. Former champion Jim Haefke is third, another 43-points back with a win June 28. Jessica Harvey is fourth, another 47-points back and also without a win, and just seven points ahead of Emily Stoyer, also without a win. Pete Blaczak was the May 17 winner, but has only competed sporadically and sits back in fifteenth.
Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Route 7 in the town of Monroe Center, OH and races every Friday night May — September. Racing begins at 7:30 PM every Friday. General admission for regular events is $10 and children 7-14 admitted for $5 each. Kids 6 and under are always free. NO PETS are admitted to the track! Fan and pit gates open at 5:30 PM. Pit admission is $25 with minimum age 18. Children under 18 admitted with a “Minor Release” form available at pit gate that must be filled out by a parent accompanying the youth.
