Conneaut, OH (August 14, 2019) — This week Raceway 7 will remember two of its most-loved personalities from its past, Bob and Jackie Vogt. Bob was a Late Model and Thunder Car driver from the 1980s through to the year prior to his passing. Jackie was a long-time scorer, respected by fans and competitors alike. Bob’s son, Bob Jr, races in the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods and his Granddaughter, Alexis, runs in the Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stock division.

The Vogt Memorial will be for the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods. Cashen Ready Mix will be the title sponsor for the event with associate sponsors including Northwest Restoration Inc, Knorr Electric, Applebee Motorsports, Close Racing Supply, Bazell Race Fuels, Johnson’s Gearing and Fleet Supply, Jeffery Tregler Race Engines, 955 Automotive, and Amsoil by Gary and Bonnie Neubauer. Thanks to the sponsors, the feature will pay $1,300 to win plus a $100 gift certificate to Close Racing Supply and a Hoosier Racing tire donated by Applebee Motorsports. Second in the feature will receive a Hoosier Racing tire thanks to Close Racing Supply. The feature will pay $150 to start. Each heat race will pay $100 to the winner and each Dash will pay $200 to win. Heat 1 will be sponsored by Tregler Race Engines, Heat 2 by 955 Automotive, and Heat 3 by Amsoil by Bonnie and Gary Neubauer. Dash 1 will be sponsored by Johnson Gearing and Northwest Restoration and Dash 2 by McDonald Meats and Northwest Restoration. The Hard Charger will receive $100 from Johnson Well Drilling. Bazell Race Fuels will give away ten 5-gallon fuel vouchers. There will be a lot of extra incentives to do well in this event.

Two-time winner Mike Kinney is the current points leader for the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods with a slim twelve point lead over Casey Bowers, also a two-time winner this season. Third is the former two-time champion Gary Eicher, a three-time 2019 winner. Eicher is 64-points behind Bowers. Four-time winner Mike Potosky is fourth, another 43 back, and Dan McDonald, not yet a winner this season, is fifth, yet another 69-points back. Last week’s winner was Mike McGee. McGee has only made four appearances this season and is fifteenth in points. Dennis Lunger won on May 31 and is seventeenth in the standings. Lunger has also only made four appearances this season.

All other classes will be in action as well. The current points leader for the Evergreen Lake Park Campground RUSH Late Models is the defending champion, Darrell Bossard, by a big 105-points over Dave Airgood, a two time winner this year. June 7 winner Breyton Santee is third, May 24 winner and two-time champion Kyle Zimmerman is fourth with four-time winner Matt Latta fifth.

The closest points battle is in the Bonnell’s Auto Sales Economods where four-time winner Kyle Miller holds a razor-thin margin of a single point over last week’s winner Matt Alexander. Alexander’s win last week was his second of the season. Two-time winner Nate Young is third with July 5 winner Jarrit Young fourth and Will Pinckney fifth.

Two-time Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stocks winner Pat Fielding holds a 79-point lead over Jamie Duncan, also a two-time winner, including last Friday. August 2 winner Bill Watson is third with Joe Stajnragh fourth and Darr Diegelman fifth.

Three-time Sunnyside Farm Transit Mini Stock winner (including last Friday) Mark Lawrence leads their points race by 136 points over defending champion and six-time winner Dillon Speer. Jim Haefke, Jessica Harvey, and Emily Stoyer fill out the top five.

Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Route 7 in the town of Monroe Center, OH and races every Friday night May — September. Racing begins at 7:30 PM every Friday. General admission for this very special event is only $10 and children 7-14 admitted for $5 each. Kids 6 and under are always free. NO PETS are admitted to the track! Fan and pit gates open at 5:30 PM. Pit admission is $25 with minimum age 18.
