Renegades of Dirt PR // For Immediate Release

(Middlebourne, WV) Eddie Carrier Jr. piloting the 2Brothers Motorsports “Outlaw” made his way to Portsmouth Raceway Park on Thursday sporting a familiar black and orange paint scheme with the traditional flames engulfing a large #1 on the door. Symbolically foreshadowing the weekend ahead for the Salt Rock, WV native who charged from 5th to earn the checkers on Friday night during the modified portion of 39th Dirt Track World Championship for UMP Renegades of Dirt Modifieds.

The weekend kicked off on Thursday night as a RoDT & DTWC record setting 103 of the most wanted modifieds in the country signed in to do battle at the Portsmouth Raceway Park. It was KC Burdette of Parkersburg, WV who would top the speed charts at a 15.996 then cruise to victory in heat race #1. Additional heat race winners were; Eric Wells, Matt Holcombe, Jesse Wisecarver, Chris Wilson, Donnie Moran, Eddie Carrier Jr and Jason Montgomery. The events loaded B-Mains were won by; Taylor Cook, Lucas Lee, Victor Lee and Adam Striker. Brayden Berry and Seth Daniels would earn Renegade of Dirt provisionals. Jeremy Rayburn would earn a track champion provisional. Lastly, Kenny Johnson of Parkersburg, WV in the Rob Webb owned #1 would earn the 28th spot by winning Thursdays “Non-Qualifier” main event.

When Friday nights feature rolled out it was twenty eight cars from the initial one hundred and three on hand that would grab the green flag. Carrier Jr. wasted no time gobbling up positions on his way to the lead off the start. Meanwhile, the entire field battled for positions with a plethora of cars battling for top five honors. Just three single car cautions slowed the thirty lap main event after an initial attempt on lap #1 that saw contact between Burdette and Holcombe. Holcombe was relegated to the tail in the incident. Chris Wilson, Jason Montgomery and Victor Lee each retiring pit side under respective yellows.

Meanwhile, it was all Carrier at the point. The seasoned vet who claimed the Mega 100 back in June with the Renegades of Dirt was commanding his way around the Portsmouth, OH oval. When the final checkered fell on the 2019 season for the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour it was Eddie Carrier Jr who would claim the $5,000 DTWC top prize. He was followed to the stripe by Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, Donnie Moran, piloting the Matt Altiers #2A. Nick Hoffman of Mooresville, NC would finish third from his twenty first starting spot. Late Model regular Eric Wells of Hazard, KY would finish fourth from seventh and KC Burdette would hang on from the outside pole to round out the top five.

“The car was incredible all weekend. I have to thank Junior Nolan and the guys at 2Brothers Motorsports for the opportunity this year to drive their car” stated Carrier Jr. “Thank you to Genesis Shocks, 2Brothers, Fast Shafts, All-Star, Octane, Outlaw Race Cars and all the crew” added Carrier. “I showed up to the garage to come down here and this scheme was on the car. To use the scheme I ran so many years in the late model it means a lot” he concluded.
