For Immediate Release
April 30, 2020 (Sandy Lake, PA) As a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the first two Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series powered by Can-Am scheduled events for 2020 are postponed. The 9th Annual Ed Laboon Memorial at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway slated for Saturday, May 30th has been moved to August 15th. As a result, the Series will have one race at PPMS instead of two as originally planned. The 3rd Annual Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals at Sharon Speedway scheduled for June 12th & 13th will be rescheduled to a new date once restrictions are lifted and the 2020 season gets underway at Sharon Speedway.
With the uncertainty of the Covid-19 situation, the postponements for the Penn Ohio Pro Stocks were deemed necessary by track management, Series officials and event coordinators to allow ample opportunity in properly planning and executing the two highest paying pro stock events in the region. Last year’s winner of the 8th Annual Ed Laboon Memorial was Chris Schneider, receiving a whopping $4,017 payday. While, Curtis J. Bish walked away with the $10,000 victory at the 2nd Annual Steel Valley Pro Stock Nationals. We are all anxious and excited for the 2020 season to get underway. Be sure to check the track websites for information on their events and updates to schedules.
