For Immediate Release:

May 7, 2020 – Amherst, OH

Good evening race fans, drivers, employees and supporters! Well, the worst kept secret in Northeast Ohio Racing has been announced. Denise and Randy Maggio, the owners of The Painesville Speedway, are the new owners of the 58 acre property now known as Lorain Raceway Park.

We would like to thank Kevin Bonnema and the rest of the Bonnema family for their continued support and for the 23 years of hard work and dedication to this facility. Your baby is in good hands and we are very excited to get started. We are changing the name to Lorain Raceway Park as our tagline will be “The County”. The history at this facility is so rich and amazing, we are very excited to continue it for many years to come.

While we understand owning two racing facilities will be hard at times and very time consuming we are prepared and ready for success. We will continue to run The Painesville Speedway weekly along with racing five times at “The County” in 2020 and twice a month in 2021. A detailed schedule, rules, pit pad sign-up and more will be posted in the next week or so.

We are very excited to get started. Send us all of your support and love, we love hearing from all of you race fans, drivers and supporters. We will update this Facebook page and website along with creating a Twitter and Instagram page in the next few days as well to stay connected. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.

The County’s Legacy Lives On!

Sincerely,

The Maggio Family
