Strickler earns Thursday Eldora win

Kyle Strickler cashed in the $10,000 prize in the Dirt Late Model Stream opener Thursday night. Strickler, who earned his way into the event as an alternate beat Shane Clanton and Brandon Shepard to the line. Eldora Speedway will host another 30-lap, $10,000 to-win event tonight (Friday) with the main event, a 67 lap feature paying $50,000 to-win set for Saturday. Both nights of racing can been seen via FloRacing.

PRP opener announced

Opening night at Portsmouth Raceway Park has been scheduled for Saturday, June 27. The date is tentative but if the show runs, it will include late models, limited late models, modifieds, sport mods and the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car Series.

Improvements continue at “The County”

Drivers and fans can expect to see improvements to Lorain Raceway Park when they LRP return roadvisit for the first time in 2020. Since acquiring the facility in March, the Maggio family along with their staff have been working hard making many upgrades to the facility. Some of the changes include new boards that have been added to the turn 1 bleachers, a new front stretch catch fence, repaving of the pit return road and patching in the pit area.

No racing in Norwalk in 2020

Bill Bader Jr. made the tough announcement on Tuesday that the 2020 racing season at Summit Motorsports Park is canceled. Bader Jr. releasing a statement on the facilities Facebook page saying that the the financial risk, having already lost over 80-percent of their revenue for the year was too much to overcome. Bader Jr. did say in the release on Facebook that he is planning to make the 2021 season “the most magnificent and monumental yet.”
